Volunteerism
Volunteerism has long been part of our culture.
About 83 percent of our U.S. employees volunteer. That’s nearly three times the 29 percent average reported in a survey of more than 150 Fortune 500 companies.
Our volunteers can be found most everywhere, but they are commonly found working on civic projects to address hunger, housing and homelessness. Another common focus is youth programs.
For example, about 3,000 employees around the world participated in “Think Global, Volunteer Local,” held in conjunction with Earth Day and National Volunteer Week.
Throughout the globe, our employees are involved in their communities – working to make the world a better place.
Many General Mills retirees also volunteer in the community.
To promote these volunteer opportunities, we partner with VolunteerMatch.
