Sourcing

Our ultimate goal is to sustainably source the raw materials that we use in our products.

Toward that goal, General Mills announced in September 2013 its commitment to sustainably source 100 percent of its 10 priority ingredients by 2020.

These ingredients represent 50 percent of our total raw material purchases.

The commitment, part of the General Mills long-term sustainable sourcing strategy, covers a broad range of raw materials including:

  • Oats
  • Wheat
  • Corn
  • Dairy
  • Fiber packaging
    • Cocoa

    • Vanilla

    • Palm oil

    • Sugar cane

    • Sugar beets

We partner with a wide variety of industry and stakeholder groups to advance the sustainability of our ingredients and raw materials.

    Responsible sourcing
General Mills is committed to protecting Human Rights in its own workplaces and to building that commitment through the supply chain with our Responsible Sourcing program. MORE
