Pillsbury launches new U.S. grocery category with Sweet Moments

U.S. consumers can now get a taste of a European-style dessert with the launch this summer of Pillsbury Sweet Moments.
Sweet Moments Bite-Size Brownies and Sweet Moments Molten Lava Brownies in a bowl are a new line of indulgent chocolate treats. They have received some of the higher taste test scores of any General Mills product.
The Bite Size Brownies are ready to eat. They come 12 per pack and retail for $3.19. The Molten Lava Brownies heat in the microwave in just 15 seconds. They come 2 per pack and also retail for $3.19.
The inspiration for the dessert comes from Europe.
In the U.S. most people opt for ice cream or cookies, but for Europeans the go-to snack is chilled desserts – rich chocolate treats that are served in small portions.
Although refrigerated desserts are a $1.6 billion category in Europe, these refrigerated desserts are the first in an entirely new category in the U.S.
A network of consumers tested the product during several weeks in their homes. In these taste tests, customers had responses such as Sweet Moments brownies are the "ultimate chocolate lover’s dream.”
