community action councils
Covington Business Pals

General Mills operates manufacturing facilities in communities nationwide. At these locations, our employees serve on Community Action Councils that work with the Foundation to make grants to nonprofits in their communities.

The Community Action Council program is an important part of General Mills' commitment to the communities in which we have business operations. Community Action Councils are groups of General Mills employees who volunteer their time to help the company give back, both financially and through volunteer efforts, to their local manufacturing communities.

Local Community Action Councils make Foundation grant recommendations and organize volunteer opportunities in our 26 manufacturing communities. Click here to access a list of General Mills Community Action Councils.

The General Mills Foundation will focus its grant-making in these communities and their surrounding areas (up to 50 miles from the General Mills facility in each community) in the areas of youth nutrition and fitness, social services, education and arts and culture.

The Community Action Council Grants Program is a single stage grant application process started by an online inquiry form. Invited applicants will send a full proposal only after the inquiry form has been submitted and reviewed.
